The Dead Sea is amongst the 28 finalists as the new Seven Wonders of the World in the nature category.  With its shores at 420 meters below sea level, the Dead Sea is the lowest elevation in the world on dry land.  At 8.6 times saltier than the ocean, it is one of the saltiest bodies of water in the world.  A popular tourist destination in Israel, the Dead Sea is also known for its healing properties.  You can vote for the Dead Sea here. The final declaration will take place in 2011.
